2006 US - South Africa Young Leaders Summit

In keeping with Community Club’s mission to broaden our students’ educational and social awareness, six Community Club students were selected to participate in the US-South African Young Leaders Summit where they will develop youth leadership skills and instill a sense of community and global responsibility.

This was the first year that students in Community Club participated in the Young Leaders Summit.

The cost to send each student was about $3600. The students, in partnership with a team of volunteer tutors and the students' families dedicated to this project, raised over $28,000 to go to the Young Leaders Summit in Cape Town.

Thank you to the many individuals and small businesses who contributed to the students' goal, and to those who stopped by the group's table at UNIFEST, the Caribbean Festival and the bake sale at Giant.
